Papertrey Ink Make It Monday - Curved Sentiments

Today's card was inspired by the challenge at Nicole's blog for Papertrey Ink.  Ashley has a video showing her tips and tricks for making curved sentiments from straight ones.  For my curved sentiment I used a sentiment from the PTI set Wonderful Words: Birthdays.  I also used the coordinating die for the "birthday" die cut.  The cake was die cut and stamped using the PTI Invitation Basics stamps & dies.  I went with neutral colors, so I could use it for  either a male or female card.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Art Impressions Challenge - Spring-y Cards

Art Impressions challenge is Spring-y Cards, so I made a card to send out to my niece's two little ones.  I used the Art Impressions clear stamp set Hoopy Easter Set.  The bunnies & sentiments both come from the set.  The paper is from the Pebbles paper pad called Family Ties and the die is from Papertrey Ink called You've Been Framed - Hexagon.  I going to mail this card, otherwise I would have popped up the bunnies with foam squares.

Art Impressions Harv - Male Birthday Card

I'm always making birthday cards because that is what I use the most, but my stash is lacking male cards.  So I try to make a few just to have on hand.  Today's card is just that a card with more of a male theme.  The stamped image is from Art Impressions called Harv and the sentiment was one of those $1 stamps they have in the bins at Michael's.  It's a simple card, but I think it works.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Use more than one die or punch.  (I used 2 different sized circle dies for my sentiment).
Addicted To Stamps and More - Challenge #234 Clean & Simple
Crafty Creations Challenge #337 - Anything Goes

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday - Window Chipboard Sentiments

This week for Papertrey Ink Stephanie has a great video on window chipboard sentiments.  I think this technique gives your card a little something than the usual.  For my sentiment I used the stamps & die from Wonderful Words: Birthday.  For my top layer I used gold mylar tape on some white card stock and then die cut it out just for a little pop!  The balloons are from the PTI stamp set Scene It: Celebration.  I used a tip I saw on Betsy's blog applying the ink to the balloons using a sponge dauber.  It gives the balloons a somewhat transparent look.

Here is the inside with another sentiment from the Wonderful Words: Birthday stamp set.

Papertrey Ink Release Day 5

Today's challenge at Papertrey Ink for release day 5 is to take a card you previously made and were not happy with and redo them.  My card I made for the challenge that focused on stitching was not one of my favorites.  I didn't care for the dark colors and the sentiment was just lost in all the designs.  So for my redo I changed the orientation, I brightened up the colors and moved my sentiment off my focal point.  Here is my original card that I wasn't real happy with.

Here is my redo.  I like the colors a lot better than the first.

Papertrey Ink Release Day 4 Challenge - Birdhouse

Today is not a card, but a birdhouse.  For release day 4 at Papertrey Ink the challenge is to create a birdhouse using the template provided.  For my birdhouse I printed the template on white card stock, since that was the only kind I could get to go through my printer.  I gave it a red roof with a cedar shake look.  The leaves are from the Papertrey Ink stamps & dies called Turning A New Leaf.  The flowers are from the PTI set Forget-Me-Not and the bird is from Winter Woods.  This was a very fun challenge.

Papertrey Ink Release Day 3 Challenge

Today challenge at Papertrey Ink is to create a card with a spring theme containing flowers. I again pulled out my Papertrey Ink stamp set called Tulip Time.  I stamped the single bloom on white card stock.  Using the Papertrey Ink stamp set Fancy Flourishes I embossed them on a piece of white card stock and using a dauber rubbed ink over the flourishes for my background.  The birthday sentiment is from Just the Ticket.  Here is my card.

Papertrey Ink Release Day 2

The challenge for Papertrey Ink's release day 2 is to create a project using multiples of a single shape of a stamp or die cut.  For my card I used the Papertrey Ink die cut Circle Scribbles.  I used the smallest one of the set and cut out different colors of scrap card stock and mounted them on a piece of black card stock to give it some pop.  The sentiment is from the PTI set Keep It Simple - Birthday II.  I used white embossing powder on black card stock.

Papertrey Ink - Packaging

Again another fun challenge at Nicole's blog for Papertrey Ink.  Guest Blooger Rebecca Luminaries shares her thoughts and ideas as the new Packaging Ambassador for PTI.  I'm looking forward to her upcoming features.  For this challenge I made a tag using the PTI Text Block Die - Party Time.  I just used a piece of pattern paper for the background and some coordinating scraps of card stock for the balloons.  Add a ribbon and you have a quick tag that adds a burst of color to any package and can easily have a masculine or feminine feel.

Papertrey Ink - Stitching Focus

Papertrey Ink is changing things up and adding great new features to their releases every month.  Guest Blogger Lizzie Jones feature focuses on stitching.  I don't have any of the PTI stitching dies, so I made card using inspiration from the square coasters that were done by the design team.  My card uses the PTI stamp & dies called Quilted: Spring.  There are a lot of stitching design elements in this set, so I thought that would work.  The die cut sentiment was from Penny Black called Celebrations.

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday - Kraft & Colored Pencils

This week for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Melissa shares her tips for using colored pencils with Kraft card stock.  For my card I pulled out the PTI stamp set Delightful Dahlias.  I don't have many outline stamps, so this is my go to.  I used Versamark Ink and embossed with white embossing then colored using a yellow, orange & red pencil for the flowers and two colors of green for the leaves.  The die cut frame was from PTI's You've Been Framed Hexagon die set.  The paper was from the Prima Collection called Almanac.  I added a few gold sequins to finish it off.

Bugaboo's Gus Birthday Card

We have a friend who is celebrating his 95th birthday today, so I printed out a digi image from Bugaboo stamps called Gus Birthday - Recount.  These are perfect for a masculine card.  I colored the image with my Copics and added Glossy Accents to his glasses and balloon.  The papers are from My Mind's Eye Come Away With Me.
